Surgical Resection of Hepatoblastoma: Factors Affecting Local Recurrence

Retrospective study of 133 hepatoblastoma patients identifies extracapsular tumor extension as a significant predictor of local recurrence after surgical resection. Microscopic positive margins (R1) combined with platinum-based chemotherapy achieved acceptable outcomes, while patients ineligible for resection should be considered for primary transplantation.
