Evaluation of Bowel Function, Urinary Tract Function, and Quality of Life after Transanal Endorectal Pull-Through Surgery for Hirschsprung's Disease

This case-control study of 30 pediatric patients demonstrates that while transanal endorectal pull-through for Hirschsprung's disease has acceptable short-term complication rates (20%), most patients experience persistent bowel dysfunction throughout childhood compared to healthy controls. Quality of life and urinary symptoms remain largely unaffected.
