Female pediatric and adolescent genitalia trauma: a retrospective analysis of the National Trauma Data Bank

Retrospective analysis of 3,206 female pediatric trauma cases reveals that genitalia injuries occur in 1.1% of cases, with distinct patterns between age groups. Adolescents with vaginal trauma show higher rates of sexual assault and require operative repair more frequently, while younger children present more commonly with non-assault mechanisms and other abuse patterns.
