Barriers to Surgical Care Among Children in Somaliland: An Application of the Three Delays Framework

Cross-sectional study of 196 children in Somaliland identifies barriers to surgical care using the three-delay framework: 27% delayed seeking care, 21% delayed reaching facilities, and 71% delayed receiving treatment. Traditional healthcare preference, financial constraints, and care availability were primary obstacles, with household size and region as significant predictors.
