Vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) prevents wound dehiscence following posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (PSARP): An exploratory case–control study

Retrospective dual-center study of 38 children with anorectal malformations demonstrates that postoperative vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) therapy reduces wound dehiscence from 25% to 0% following posterior sagittal anorectoplasty. VAC application, combined with bowel preparation and supportive care, shows promise for preventing anocutaneous anastomotic breakdown without device-related complications.
