Factors associated with pediatric firearm injury and enrollment in a violence intervention program

This cross-sectional study of 407 pediatric violence victims identified multiple risk factors for firearm injury including older age, male sex, gang affiliation, and substance use. Only 26% enrolled in violence intervention programs, with enrollment significantly lower among older adolescents and those with substance use or probation history, suggesting need for targeted outreach strategies.
