Risk factors affecting the treatment outcome of pediatric foreign body aspiration: significance of time factors

Retrospective study of 49 children under 3 years with foreign body aspiration demonstrates that shorter time intervals—from symptom onset to hospitalization, hospitalization to surgery, and operation duration—significantly improve outcomes including reduced hospital stay and lower pneumonia incidence. Findings emphasize the critical importance of rapid diagnosis and intervention in pediatric airway foreign bodies.
