Retrospective study of seven patients with cervical lymphatic malformations extending into the mediastinum shows surgical excision offers superior outcomes compared to sclerotherapy alone. Sclerotherapy was associated with five times more severe complications and prolonged ventilation requirements, while surgical resection achieved excellent clinical outcomes with fewer major complications.
