Outpatient thyroidectomy in the pediatric population

This retrospective study evaluates the safety of outpatient thyroidectomy in 53 pediatric cases, demonstrating successful same-day discharge within 6 hours for all patients. The series included various indications (Graves' disease, thyroid cancer, nodules) with a 9.4% transient hypoparathyroidism rate, supporting outpatient thyroid surgery as safe and feasible in children.
