Minimal dissection of posterior wall of rectum reduces rectal prolapse in laparoscopic assisted anorectal pull-through

This retrospective study of 86 male ARM patients demonstrates that minimal posterior rectal dissection during LAARP significantly reduces postoperative rectal prolapse from 68.3% to 11.5%. The technique is most effective for prostatic and bulbar urethral fistulas, offering a practical modification to improve surgical outcomes.
