Adnexal torsion with paraovarian cysts in pediatric and adolescent populations: A retrospective study

This retrospective study of 39 pediatric patients found that adnexal torsion occurred in nearly half of girls with paraovarian cysts requiring surgery, with no correlation to cyst size or ultrasound appearance. The findings suggest prophylactic surgical removal of paraovarian cysts should be considered in young patients to prevent torsion complications.
