Closing the Gap in Care of Blunt Solid Organ Injury in Children

This NTDB study (2007-2016) of 55,036 pediatric blunt liver and spleen injuries shows that adult and dual trauma centers continue to have higher operative intervention rates compared to pediatric centers, despite guideline shifts toward physiology-based management. The findings highlight persistent care gaps in non-pediatric facilities.
