Does academic authorship reflect gender bias in pediatric surgery? An analysis of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 2007–2017

This study examines gender representation in Journal of Pediatric Surgery authorship from 2007-2017, finding that women's representation as first authors increased significantly to 53.9%, while last authorship remained lower, suggesting persistent barriers to senior academic positions despite improved fellowship gender parity.
