Short- and long-term outcome of surgery for chronic pancreatitis in children: a single surgeon experience

Retrospective study of 54 pediatric patients who underwent surgical drainage procedures for chronic pancreatitis over 12 years. Surgery achieved complete pain control in 83% of patients with low complication rates, demonstrating that surgical intervention is safe and effective for children with medically refractory chronic pancreatitis.
