Published: Reading: 1 min

Topic overview

Retrospective study of 575 pediatric appendectomy patients demonstrates that same-day discharge and elimination of postoperative antibiotics for gangrenous appendicitis significantly reduces length of stay without increasing complications, readmissions, or infection rates.
