Trends in the Treatment of Pectus Excavatum in the Netherlands

Dutch national registry data from 1998-2017 shows increasing surgical correction rates for pectus excavatum despite stable birth rates, driven by patient demand rather than increased incidence. Minimally invasive repair (MIRPE) with thoracoscopic assistance has become the predominant technique, replacing open approaches.
