Fifteen-Year Single-Center Experience of Biliary Complications in Liver Trauma Patients: Changes in the Management of Posttraumatic Bile Leak

Retrospective study of 118 liver trauma patients over 15 years demonstrates that intraperitoneal drainage alone is as effective as drainage plus ERCP for managing posttraumatic bile leaks, with comparable outcomes and lower costs. The shift to drainage-only as first-line treatment avoids ERCP-related complications while maintaining clinical efficacy.
