Fetoscopic techniques for prenatal covering of gastroschisis in an ovine model are technically demanding and do not lead to permanent anchoring on the fetus until the end of gestation.

Pilot study in sheep evaluated fetoscopic techniques for covering gastroschisis defects prenatally using various bag materials and fixation methods. While intestinal bag placement was achieved in 67% of cases, all bags dislocated by term, indicating current techniques cannot maintain permanent fixation and require specialized instrument development.
