Efficacy of antireflux surgery in children with or without neurological impairment: a systematic review.

Systematic review of 14 studies demonstrates that antireflux surgery significantly improves quality of life and reduces esophageal acid exposure in both neurologically normal and neurologically impaired children. Despite being a common elective procedure, the review highlights a striking lack of rigorous preoperative and postoperative evaluation in most published studies.
