Comparison of the outcomes of biliary atresia with cystic degeneration and isolated biliary atresia: A matched-pair analysis

Retrospective matched-pair study comparing outcomes between biliary atresia with cystic degeneration (BACD) and isolated BA following Kasai portoenterostomy. BACD patients demonstrated significantly better bilirubin clearance at 3 months and higher 5-year native liver survival (95.2% vs 57.5%) compared to isolated BA.
