Calibration and validation of the pediatric resuscitation and trauma outcome model among injured children in Rwanda

Validation study of the PRESTO mortality prediction model in 1,695 injured Rwandan children demonstrates superior performance (AUC 0.90) compared to existing trauma scores, particularly in children under 5 years. The model uses six low-tech variables suitable for resource-limited settings and outperforms both RTS and KTS scoring systems.
