Achieving urinary continence in cloacal exstrophy: The surgical cost

Retrospective study of 59 cloacal exstrophy patients demonstrates that 71% achieved urinary continence through surgical intervention, requiring a median of 4 total urologic procedures including 2 continence-specific operations. Median time to continence was 11 years, with half of candidates achieving dryness by age 11.
