Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is associated with nonscrotal testes

Retrospective cohort study of 75 male CDH survivors reveals 36% prevalence of nonscrotal testes, predominantly ipsilateral to the diaphragmatic defect. No specific CDH characteristics predicted testicular maldescent. Findings emphasize the need for systematic testicular examination in all male CDH patients during first year of life to enable timely orchidopexy.
