Comparison of Military Health System Data Repository and American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program-Pediatric.

This validation study compared demographics and outcomes for five common pediatric operations between the Military Health System Data Repository (3+ million pediatric patients) and the established NSQIP-P database. Results showed comparable patient populations and clinical outcomes, supporting MDR as a valuable resource for pediatric surgical research, particularly for rare conditions requiring long-term follow-up.
