Liver stiffness measurement predicts the difficulty of Kasai procedure in biliary atresia: a single center retrospective analysis of 199 patients.

Retrospective study of 199 biliary atresia patients demonstrates that preoperative liver stiffness measurement reliably predicts Kasai procedure surgical difficulty. LSM >23.75 kPa indicates porta hepatis retraction and more complex dissection, with 95% specificity for identifying challenging cases.
