Thromboelastometry as an Alternative Method for Coagulation Assessment in Pediatric Patients Undergoing Invasive Procedures: A Pilot Study

Pilot study demonstrates ROTEM as reliable alternative to standard coagulation tests in pediatric patients undergoing invasive procedures. Twenty-six patients with prolonged PT/aPTT but normal ROTEM results underwent procedures without severe bleeding, suggesting viscoelastic testing may reduce unnecessary plasma transfusions and procedure delays.
