Indications, Surgical Complications, and Long-Term Outcomes in Pediatric Esophageal Reconstructions with Pedicled Jejunal Interposition Graft

Retrospective study of 14 pediatric patients undergoing esophageal reconstruction with pedicled jejunal interposition graft shows 77% achieved full enteral feeding after median 6.5-year follow-up, though 43% experienced significant complications requiring major revision. PJIG proved functional for esophageal atresia and trauma cases but carries substantial early and late morbidity risk.
