Innocent Children in the Syrian Civil War

Retrospective study of 147 Syrian pediatric war casualties treated in Turkey (2011-2019) demonstrates hollow organ injuries as the predominant intraabdominal pathology, with 17 patients requiring reoperation after initial Syrian surgery. Delayed intervention correlates with increased mortality and morbidity in this vulnerable population.
