Mechanical versus Chemical Pleurodesis after Bullectomy for Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax: A Systemic Review and Meta-Analysis

Meta-analysis of 1,933 patients comparing mechanical versus chemical pleurodesis after bullectomy for primary spontaneous pneumothorax found chemical pleurodesis superior, with lower recurrence rates (1.2% vs 4.0%) and shorter hospital stays. No significant differences in complications or operative time were observed between approaches.
