The Impact of Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Therapy on Postoperative Complications in Pediatric Crohn's Disease

Retrospective study of 65 pediatric Crohn's disease patients undergoing abdominal surgery found no increased risk of 30-day postoperative complications in those receiving anti-TNF-α therapy within 90 days before surgery. Complication rates were similar between treated and untreated groups, suggesting preoperative biologic therapy is safe in this population.
