I thank Drs Cox and Morris for their interest in my article on the evolutionary saga of circumcision. Contrary to my narration that circumcision must have originated as a punishment of defeated enemies, Cox and Morris claim that it was voluntarily practiced as early as in paleolithic period. I am aware of such a viewpoint [1,2] but chose to turn down that because of its logical inconsistencies.
