Surgical Wound Care: A Survey of Parental Knowledge and Expectations

This survey of 200 parents at a tertiary pediatric center reveals significant knowledge gaps in postoperative wound care, including misconceptions about infection recognition, activity restrictions, and unnecessary antibiotic/antiseptic use. The findings highlight the need for standardized parental education programs to improve wound care outcomes in pediatric surgical patients.
