Clinical characteristics and surgical outcome in children with intussusceptions secondary to pathologic lead points: retrospective study in a single institution

Retrospective study of 83 pediatric patients reveals age-dependent patterns in secondary intussusception: Meckel's diverticulum and duplication cysts predominate in children under 2 years (81%), while polyps and Peutz-Jeghers syndrome are most common in older children (72%). Complex/compound intussusception is the most frequent presentation requiring surgical intervention.
