Perioperative Complications after Kasai Hepatoportoenterostomy: Data from the Swiss National Biliary Atresia Registry

Swiss registry analysis of 62 biliary atresia patients undergoing Kasai hepatoportoenterostomy found 42% experienced perioperative complications, predominantly cholangitis. Lower gestational age correlated with higher complication rates, but perioperative complications did not impact long-term survival or native liver preservation.
