Antenatally-detected liver cysts: Causes and characteristics, indications for intervention

This 25-year case series of 32 infants with antenatally-detected hepatic cysts demonstrates that most simple parenchymal cysts can be managed conservatively, with many showing spontaneous regression or resolution. Surgical intervention was required in only 5 cases, typically for large, rapidly growing, or exophytic cysts with diagnostic uncertainty.
