The impact of perioperative care on complications and short term outcome in ARM type rectovestibular fistula: An ARM-Net consortium study

This ARM-Net consortium study of 165 patients with rectovestibular fistula examined how perioperative interventions affect complications and outcomes. Combined mechanical bowel prep, extended antibiotic prophylaxis, and postoperative fasting reduced major complications to 5.9%, though half of patients experienced constipation at one-year follow-up.
