Risk factors for recurrence after thoracoscopic repair of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH)

Retrospective study of 68 CDH patients found 19% recurrence after thoracoscopic repair, with higher rates in neonatal cases and non-sac defects. Buttressed repairs (sandwich technique with underlay/overlay) showed zero recurrence, suggesting this modification may reduce failure rates compared to standard primary or patch closure.
