Topic overview

Thank you very much for the interest of Pena, et al, in our paper. Their valuable comments are highly appreciated. Laparoscopic anorectoplasty (LARP) has been developed for more than 15 years, but most studies have focused on the technical aspects or early outcomes with little data about the long-term results. The objective of our study was to report the clinical and manometric outcomes with a longer follow up period. We concur that sacrospinal anomalies play a significant role in determining the postoperative bowel function, and therefore we have excluded those patients with severe spinal anomalies in our study.
