Multifocal hepatoblastoma: What is the risk of recurrent disease in the remnant liver?

Retrospective analysis of 60 hepatoblastoma patients found that multifocal disease was not associated with increased local recurrence after R0 resection and chemotherapy, with both liver recurrences occurring in unifocal cases. These findings challenge the assumption that all multifocal hepatoblastoma requires total hepatectomy and transplantation.
