Utilization of a handheld telemedicine device in postoperative pediatric surgical care

This study evaluated a handheld telemedicine device for postoperative follow-up in 24 pediatric surgical patients, demonstrating equivalent safety and accuracy compared to in-person visits. High caregiver satisfaction (3.92/4) and significant travel reduction (average 45 miles saved) support telemedicine as a viable alternative for routine postoperative pediatric surgical care.
