The effectiveness of transoral marsupialization for lingual thyroglossal duct cysts — Twelve successfully treated cases at a single institution

Retrospective study of 12 infants with lingual thyroglossal duct cysts treated via transoral marsupialization demonstrates 100% success rate without recurrence over 37-month follow-up. All patients presented with stridor; procedure averaged 18 minutes with no complications, supporting this minimally invasive approach for life-threatening airway obstruction in infants under 6 months.
