We read with interest the article entitled “Hepatoportoenterostomy Surgery Technique” by de Carvalho et al. [1], which is published in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. The authors described the well known surgical techniques that are used in performing a Kasai hepatoportoenterostomy, along with their own unique refinements. The step-by-step descriptions with accompanying high-resolution images are easy to understand and fully reproducible, and might serve as a very good guide for the beginning pediatric surgeon.
