Development and validation of a screening model for early diagnosis of biliary atresia in neonates with cholestasis

This study presents a validated screening model designed to identify biliary atresia early in neonates presenting with cholestasis. Early detection is critical as timely surgical intervention (Kasai procedure) significantly improves outcomes in this progressive liver disease that can lead to cirrhosis if untreated.
