Topic overview

We wanted to bring attention to recent developments in the care of patients with intussusception. This discussion is being driven by our pediatric radiology colleagues, who wish to change how patients with intussusception are treated during the late night and early morning hours. The radiology groups at Texas Children's and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia have published large retrospective series investigating this change [1–3]. The drive to make this change stems from significant workforce shortages and a desire to avoid coming in at night for these procedures.
