As the political climate increasingly influences healthcare, a provocative question arises: Should we, as pediatric surgeons, voice our opinions in public forums such as opinion editorials (op-eds)? For some, entering this realm of public discourse feels natural, while others are hesitant about stepping into the politically charged arena. While it is ultimately a personal choice whether to express one's views publicly, it's worth considering the potential value of op-eds and weighing them against the risks associated with stepping beyond what some perceive as our "lanes" [1].
