Recurrent Recto-colonic Septum After Duhamel's Surgery: Novel Effective Treatment

Duhamel's surgery is considered a safe and effective treatment of colonic aganglionosis (CA). Recurrent colo-rectal septum represents a relatively rare late complication of this surgery. Data about this complication are scarce in the literature, but it seems to be a rare occurrence (circa 10 % of the patients, 6.7 %–11.9 %) [1–3]. If we consider the incidence of CA in the population (1:5000 to 1:10,000 live births), and that trans-anal procedures seem to be preferential at this moment, for most Pediatric Surgeons, recurrent colo-rectal septa are probably very uncommon.
