The Wellness Committee of APSA would like to thank JPS for highlighting our inaugural 5 years in their Perspectives column in a series of submissions from the Wellness Committee, which was formed in late 2019. No one is more well positioned to provide this Perspectives submission, than our current APSA President, Dr. Tom Tracy, as he has served in numerous departmental, institutional, and organizational leadership roles. This article highlights the challenges of a potentially toxic work environment, and gives many practical points for navigating such an environment, with the goal of recovering and thriving.
