We hereby comment on the publication on “Optimizing Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Repair on ECMO: Evaluating the Risk of Bleeding [1].” This study sheds light on the parameters linked to significant bleeding problems after ECMO surgery in patients with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). However, the retrospective nature of this study raises concerns regarding potential biases that could skew the results. For example, intrinsic biases in selection criteria or data collection may impair the validity of the relationships discovered between preoperative variables and bleeding problems.
