Commentary: How Far We Go for Surgery: Distance to Pediatric Surgical Care in Indiana

We congratulate the authors on their careful investigation of how far children must travel to receive pediatric surgical care within a state that has large rural areas. Careful analysis of the location of patient residence and distance to care are the foundation for travel requirements for both routinely available procedures, and procedures requiring pediatric surgeons and facilities with pediatric surgical support and service provision.
