Abstract 

Background/Purpose

: Pectus carinatum (PC) is a chest wall deformity resulting in anterior protrusion of the chest. PC does not typically result in significant physical or cardiopulmonary symptoms, but patients with this condition can experience a disturbed body image, lower self-esteem and reduced quality of life.  The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-image and non-surgical correction of PC using a brace.
